Hi there!
In addition to The Red Queen by Philippa Gregory I bought last week, I also bought a crochet book with patterns for cloths in.
It is in Danish and called "Hæklede klude fra A til Ø" by Gitte Gade. The literal translation is "Crocheted cloths from A to Ø" and it is just that. A collection of 27 cloth patterns, all written, and lovely pictures to go with them. It is all in nice pastel colours, so it is a very nice book to look through.
I decided to try out one of the patterns using some "Soft Cotton" from Järbo Garn in the lovely colour way 8881. It is a mix of white, blues and browns which is a beautiful mix of colours.
The pattern I decided to try out is called "grums" in Danish. I have no idea what the English word for the pattern is, but it is very simple: 1 dc, 1 tr, 1 dc, 1 tr and in the next row it is 1 tr in the 1 dc, then 1 dc in the 1 tr and so on. If you know the English word for it, please write it in the comments, thank you :)
This is what it looks like up close. I love the change in colours, although when I first started it, I was surprised at how quick the colour changes were. It is the first time I use colour changing yarn in a project, but am very happy with it so far.
I bought the yarn when I was at Håndarbejdsmessen back in February, and I already wanted to use it for dishcloths back then, so it was a match already made when I bought the book :)
Until next time,
x Michelle x
